A
video is set up in the studio, with a video camera pointing down from
overhead. Paper lips are set
upon the moving turntable, one by one. A computer program was written
to respond to the way these lips fell onto the record player. Every time
one of the lips passed an invisible "zone" on
the turntable, the computer would trigger a short sample, which was
a fragment of a voice. The more lips that were on the turntable, the
more samples would be triggered. |
